STJ, you cannot understand the magnitude of police brutality in Sierra Leone either becoz you've been away for quite long, or you've not been affected one way or the other, or you are one yourself. I have friends in the police and infact most of the young Inspectors were my colleagues at Aureol, so I bear them no grudge. And I also worked with heaps of them before leaving. We only heard of this because INIP was fortunate to be around. What about those happening else where, the heaps of people humiliated and disgraced all in the name of law enforcement.
Before I came, I resided at 25 Adelaide Street for 7 years, right opposite the Western Police Station. Infact, since I came from "upline", I knew no other place of abode. For 7 years, I observed the police day-in and day-out. The attitude of these guys is nothing to write home about. You cannot imagine that those who get drunk on duty are given accolade as brave officers. Its disheartening.
Granted, that not all of them are bad but the truth is,those smirching the image of the force are left to go unpunished.
